Riverside Community Garden Plot Program
Paragraph A
City residents aged 16 or older may apply for one garden plot. Applications are accepted from February 1 to February 20. When requests outnumber available plots, the city uses a random draw rather than first-come order. Applicants receive their result by March 5 and must confirm within seven days.
Paragraph B
A standard ground plot measures three by four metres and costs $45 for the season. Accessible raised beds cost $25 and are reserved for gardeners who cannot comfortably work at ground level. Both fees include spring soil delivery, water access, and weekend use of the community compost station.
Paragraph C
A shared shed contains wheelbarrows, watering cans, and hoses for use on the site. Members bring their own small hand tools and should label them clearly during group work sessions. The program does not supply seeds, plants, gloves, or containers for taking produce home.
Paragraph D
Only organic pest-control products may be used. Watering is permitted from 6:00 to 9:00 in the morning and from 6:00 to 9:00 in the evening. Members who will be away for more than two weeks must arrange for someone to care for their plot. After a warning, an unattended plot may be reassigned to a person on the waiting list.
