A complete practice journey, not an isolated quiz
The mock-test system orchestrates existing PTE items and scorers into an ordered session. It is designed to help you practise timing, transitions and concentration across all four communicative skills.
- Ordered sections and task sequence based on the current PTE structure.
- Existing section-specific response players for typed and recorded answers.
- Integrated-skill aggregation so relevant tasks contribute across skills.
- Item-level results and feedback after completion.
From device check to final result
- Choose a test. Review the available PTE practice tests and any flagged content or audio limitations.
- Check your setup. Use a working microphone and headphones in a quiet space.
- Complete the sections in order. Responses are submitted through the existing PTE section services.
- Resume if interrupted. An in-progress session can be reopened from the PTE Hub.
- Review your result. See skill estimates and the contribution of individual items.
Take the test in one sitting without external help. Use section practice afterwards to target the weakest skill shown in your result.
Use the result to decide what to practise next
The result page reports practice estimates for Speaking, Writing, Reading and Listening. Integrated tasks contribute to every skill they assess rather than only the section where they appear.
The item breakdown is more useful than the overall number alone. Look for recurring weaknesses such as spelling-sensitive dictation, fluency, response form, or negative marking from incorrect selections.
Set up a realistic test environment
- Use a laptop or desktop with a reliable microphone.
- Wear headphones and close apps that may interrupt audio.
- Allow enough uninterrupted time for the selected test.
- Keep a notepad available for listening notes.
- Do not refresh or open answer resources during the session.
PTE mock test FAQs
A PrepEx mock is not an official Pearson test
PrepEx uses current public PTE format and scoring information, but Pearson does not publish its complete scoring and equating algorithm. PrepEx results are therefore practice estimates.
Pearson states that its own Scored Practice Tests are the only practice tests using the official PTE scoring engine and criteria. Use PrepEx to practise, find patterns and track direction; use official Pearson products when you need Pearson's own score-potential assessment.
